Method

Frozen frames

Frozen-frame intervals (full-file scan)

What we measure and how

Frozen-frame intervals are passages where consecutive frames are pixel-identical (within a noise threshold), indicating an encoder stall, a playout dropout reframed as a still, or genuine motionless content held too long. Detection runs full-file with a per-pixel difference threshold of 0.001 (effectively bit-exact) and a minimum interval of two seconds. Reports each detected freeze interval; caller threshold is the maximum allowed frozen-frame duration.
