Audio loudness speech gated

Speech-gated integrated loudness (ATSC A/85 dialogue measurement)

What we measure and how

Dialogue-gated integrated loudness measures programme loudness over speech intervals only — the metric ATSC A/85 (CALM Act compliance) uses for dialogue normalisation, so that two programmes with the same dialogue-level intelligibility don't differ wildly because one has loud music beds. Measured per ATSC A/85 with a separate pass over the audio in which non-speech intervals are removed (the speech-detector output is inverted into an exclude-everything-but-speech mask, and ITU-R BS.1770-4 integrated loudness is computed over the resulting concatenated audio). Reported in LUFS; skipped cleanly when no speech is detected.
